Friday 20th saw a group of the regulars at Legions for a Chinese theme day. I played Neal, Steve, and Alan…..and lost all three games!  I didn’t get any pics of Neal’s win (and NOT cause he beat me like a rented mule…my camera batteries were dead after my Europe trip).

Next up was Steve. We used his matched pairs (I used Post Mongol Samurai and he used Ming Chinese). Suffice it to say that Steve whupped me although it was closer than it should have been (4:3) at the end.

Last up was Alan. I used Southern Dynasty Chinese and Alan used Warring States Chines (Chao). This was one of the most frustrating games I’ve played in a long time as my pip dice were crap the whole game… I rolled one 3 and that was my high die!  The rest of the game was 2’s and 1’s which really cramped my attack, particularly since I had an elephant. It seemed like a longer game than normal, but my combat dice were high enough to blunt many of Alan’s attacks. In the end, I lost 4:3, which was a hell of a lot better than it should have been!

See Alan’s blog for his report on the game night.

Next month’s Friday theme will be Pachy Peril..only armies with elephants allowed. I like the idea of selecting themes for the Friday games as it gets out some of the less-played armies for fun.
